Position Summary:
The Meat Clerk prioritizes excellent customer service. They excel in accommodating customer requests for meat preparation and cutting, demonstrating in-depth product knowledge, accuracy in pricing and weight, and providing valuable cooking technique recommendations. They also assist the dept. manager in clean-up and prep of the meat department.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Weigh, wrap, and label products accurately.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to maximize sales and minimize shrinkage.
- Check for pull-dated and substandard items, ensuring freshness and quality meat standards.
- Monitor and maintain accurate signage; replace damaged or incorrect signs.
- Ensure the overall cleanliness of the Meat Department, including display cases and shelves.
- Accurately receive incoming products.
- Other duties as assigned.
