What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Finisher position at Superior Construction?
Summary/Objective
We recruit highly skilled individuals for a variety of disciplines in the construction field. A skilled craft worker is an essential cog in the wheel of any Superior Construction project. Qualified applicants will have experience working on Heavy Civil, Roadway or Bridge Projects. Applicant must be familiar with working from heights and/or Man-lifts.
Essential Functions

- Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects.
- Set concrete forms at the correct depth and slope
- Screed freshly placed concrete to a specific grade and depth
- Smooth concrete surface using a hand float or bull float
- Cut joints and edge concrete using the appropriate tools

- Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.

Work Environment
This is field based role. Employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Physical Demands
The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.
- Must be reliable/have reliable transportation.
- 2-3 Years Construction Experience Preferred.
