The Opportunity: Your Role as a Principal Data Center Solutions Architect
We're looking for a leader to join our exclusive White Glove Service team. In this pivotal role, you'll be far more than an architect—you'll be a trusted partner and strategic advisor to our most valued customers. You will have the autonomy to design and deliver state-of-the-art data center solutions that power their critical business needs.
This is a hands-on, high-impact position where you'll guide projects from initial concept to full-scale deployment. You will be the go-to expert, providing advanced consultation and shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow.
As a key part of our team, you will:
- Lead the Design: Collaborate directly with customers to understand their vision and architect comprehensive, scalable, and high-performance data center solutions from the ground up.
- Be the Expert Guide: Shepherd our customers through the entire facility build-out process—from power and cooling to physical security—ensuring every project is completed on time and to the highest standard.
- Drive Strategic Sourcing: Take the lead on identifying best-in-class technology, negotiating with vendors, and making data-driven recommendations to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Innovate and Optimize: Continuously evaluate and enhance our data center systems, pushing the boundaries of efficiency, performance, and energy sustainability.
- Ensure Rock-Solid Reliability: Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring every solution complies with the highest industry standards for security, safety, and reliability.
What You'll Bring to the Table
We're looking for a unique blend of technical mastery, leadership, and business acumen. You are a natural problem-solver and a consultative expert who thrives on complex challenges.
- Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, coupled with 12 years of hands-on experience in the data center world.
- Deep Technical Expertise: You are a master of data center infrastructure. Your expertise includes:
- Facility Design: Power distribution (CRAC, PDU), advanced air and liquid cooling, and physical security.
- Core Infrastructure: Server deployment, DC networking (some industry certification desired), and SAN/hyperconverged storage solutions.
- Modern Platforms & Services: VMware technologies, Linux, firewalls (including security segmentation, rules, and DMZs), load balancing, and VPN.
- Consultative Skills: You have exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to act as a trusted technical advisor, ideally with prior experience as a senior Systems Engineer.
- Leadership Qualities: You are an organized, analytical, and decisive leader who can manage complex projects, build strong relationships with vendors, and excel in a cross-functional team environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed to support our customers and their projects.
Why Supermicro?
- Competitive Compensation: The salary range for this position is 160,000−160,000−200,000, dependent on location, experience, and skills.
- Rewarding Performance: In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, you may be eligible for our bonus and equity award programs.
- Growth and Impact: Join a company on an incredible growth trajectory and play a direct role in our success. Your work will have a visible impact on our customers and the industry.
