Job Description
A high-tech RF fast-growing Company located in Ronkonkoma; NY that serves the military electronics markets has an opening for an RF Microwave Engineer. Design, construct, operate, and test integrated microwave sub-assemblies for applications from 1 MHz to 20 GHz frequency range.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
A high-tech RF fast-growing Company located in Ronkonkoma; NY that serves the military electronics markets has an opening for an RF Microwave Engineer. Design, construct, operate, and test integrated microwave sub-assemblies for applications from 1 MHz to 20 GHz frequency range.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct analysis, research, design, development, fabrication & testing of devices and integrated microwave assembly systems for applications from 1 MHz to 20 GHz
- Perform original RF circuit design and analysis
- Plan tests to be conducted and arrange the test setup
- Check the performance of devices during tests and evaluate the results
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation of spare parts lists, special tools, test equipment, and other engineering data
- Specify the procurement of specialized components and test equipment
- Provide significant technical contribution to the design of RF and microwave electronic products including: Solid-state power amplifiers, Low-noise amplifiers, Upconverters and downconverters synthesizers, and RF switching/distribution networks.
SKILLS:
- Ability to use high-frequency electronic instruments, such as oscillators, audio oscillators, standing wave amplifiers, multimeters, phase-sensitive demodulators, volt-ohm meters, logic and network analyzers, AF and RF signal generators, and wave meters
- Ability to stay focused and follow a systematic method of performing a task while supporting a wide range of activities
- Computer literate in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members and customers
- Good communication skills, both oral and in written form
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Able to create link budgets, calculate noise figures, analyze/test phase noise, and calculate intermodulation products
- Ability to measure and calculate insertion loss and VSWR of a microwave device
- A good understanding of RF theory such as S-parameters, noise figure, gain, 1dB compression, harmonics, and intermodulation distortion measurement
- Experience with Design/Simulation software
- Experience in the frequency range of 1 MHz to 18GHz
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years related experience and/or training combination of education and experience
