Description:
The International Logistics Specialist will provide leading and managed support for weekend processes for clients, carriers, and functionality with Cargowise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to clearly identify urgency level, escalate and provide alternative options for urgent shipments.
- Proactively maintain communication with clients on status of their shipments.
- Monitor the documents box for urgent e-mails.
- Actively maintain and escalate communication with steamship lines and truckers
- Coordinate the release of goods from the carrier, Customs or other governmental agency examinations that may be required and arrange and track delivery of goods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- More than 40 hours worked in a week as job functions necessitate.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of prior Supply Chain/Transportation experience required with preferred Bachelor's Degree in Logistics
- Must be a team player and be able to provide support to other team members within the department.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to ever changing priorities. This will include the ability to work both as part of a team and own initiative.
- Critical thinking and Project planning skills within SCS organization, Clients and Carriers. Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses and provide potential solutions.
- Strong communication skills within organization, client/customer base and with carriers. This includes strong communication skills by written form, by email or in person. Ability to influence positive situations.
- 3PL experience preferred
- Supply Chain/Transportation Management Software experience preferred
- Experience within different freight markets including carrier rates bases, Multi-modal types, equipment types, and tariffs.
- Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities, meet deadlines, manage risk, and deal with problems.
- Detail-oriented approach to work is essential.
- Ability to follow guidelines.
- Proficient in all MS Office products.
- Accounting experience a plus but not mandatory
Work Environment:
Will work in a desk area with a computer, phone, and other office equipment required to perform the duties/responsibilities of the position.
