The BARISTA (Part-time) is responsible to assist Pacific Perk customers, conduct sales transactions in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner, and provide efficient and professional food and beverage service to hotel guests.
The expected base wage range for this position is: $15.50 to $15.50 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:
- To make and serve specialty coffee and espresso drinks.
- To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Spa Director or Outlet Supervisor, when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
- To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
- To make the Outlet Supervisor aware of all guest comments and complaints.
- To be thoroughly familiar with the menus, service standards, and procedures.
- To follow specified procedures to provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service to hotel guests by the pools, including answering telephones; taking, preparing and presenting guest checks; and providing correct change for cash transactions.
- To follow specified procedures to properly set-up the Pacific Perk on a daily basis.
- To ensure the cleanliness and condition of the Coffee Shop.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Must be familiar with all areas of customer service, including correct telephone etiquette, proper cash and cash register handling, and writing mail orders. Must have strong basic math skills. Previous hotel/resort experience preferred.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Learns quickly. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Diplomatic and calm. Strong verbal communications skills. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks short distances throughout shift. Bends, stoops, reaches, and lifts up to 20 lbs. to perform routine job tasks.
