The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resource Manager is also a back-up to the payroll department.
The HR Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Recruit quality candidates for exempt and non-exempt level positions to include physicians and ACPs. Review and evaluate candidates to ensure they meet the position requirements.
- Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings and makes recommendations for hires.
- Maintain tracking of physician recruitment applicants and status within process.
- Ensures compliance with pre-employment screening process for all new hires.
- Designs and conducts new hire orientation.
- Maintains job descriptions for all positions in the organization.
- Establishes and oversees performance review process for staff and mid-level providers to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equitable implementation.
- Conducts wage surveys within the labor market to establish a fair and equitable compensation plan to attract and maintain a superior work force.
- Prepares and maintains company salary structure / compensation program.
- Makes recommendations to the Board, in conjunction with the Practice Administrator, on annual merit budget.
- Partner with benefit brokers to negotiate annual employee and physician benefit renewals.
- Plan and organize open enrollment to include gathering census data, preparing open enrollment materials, communicating to employees and physicians about open enrollment changes, setting up the online open enrollment system, working with benefit carriers, and finalizing all changes.
- Manage the company 401k recordkeeper and ensure appropriate documentation of 401k audit processes.
- Manages employee relations issues to include investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and ensures policies and practices are compliant. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and employment law.
- Responds to unemployment claims.
- Facilitates the Physician Assistant Preceptor program with schools and providers.
- Plans and organizes companywide events such as employee appreciation week and the annual holiday party to improve morale, develop camaraderie, and reward employees for a job well done.
- Directs the implementation of company safety and employee health programs. Ensures annual employee health requirements are completed.
- Files workers compensation claims when needed.
- Perform strategic and tactical functions and will do whatever is required to model an outstanding customer service toward our patients, clients, and staff.
- Follow company Policies, OSHA, and HIPAA standards and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by practice administrator.
