POSITION: Child Support Agent II
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provide enforcement services for Child Support services, both public assistance and non-public assistance. Provide support obligation negotiation and establishment functions for applicants for child support. Assist in the coordination of activities necessary to file UIFSA (out of state) petitions and orders. Prepare cases for the attorney and assist the attorney in the courtroom. Maintain case records in automated system for child support. Assist in the coordination and/or accomplishment of enforcement and investigative activities related to any program aspect. Assist in the preparation and submission of necessary fiscal and statistical reports. Assist appropriate judicial personnel and agencies and appear and testify in court as required to determine legal obligations for child support. Possess and operate a motor vehicle.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A four year degree and six months experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary or legal work that provides knowledges, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or an associate degree in business administration, human resources, law enforcement or closely related degree and two years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary or legal work that provides knowledges, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or graduation from high school and three years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary or legal work that provides knowledges, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the Child Support Enforcement Program and applicable legal procedures; ability to interview individuals and to investigate cases; considerable ability to organize, analyze and summarize case information; basic math skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and absent parents, location resources, offices of the Clerk of Court, Magistrates, District Attorney, Sheriff, other court officials and private attorneys.
