Bookstore Assistant / Cashier
Classification: Non-exempt
Reports To: Bookstore Manager
Job Summary/Objective: The incumbent is responsible for providing customer service to patrons of the bookstore and support to the bookstore manager.
Position Type/Expected Work Hours: Part time; weekend availability required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with excellent customer service
- Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately
- Ensure merchandise displays are aesthetically pleasing and organized
- Assist customers via phone, in person, and online inquiries
- Reconcile cash drawer and transactions at the end of shifts
- Assist with various projects and bookstore needs as designate
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of retail, bookstore, or equivalent customer service experience
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of constituents and personalities
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment: Retail Environment
Physical Demands: Extended periods of standing/sitting/walking and working at a computer will be required. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly is required.

Salary : $24,000 - $30,400
