Job Overview :

Sweetheart Ice Cream is seeking an experienced Dairy Route Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our dairy delivery routes. This key role involves supervising a team of delivery drivers, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of dairy products, and maintaining high customer satisfaction standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of logistics and customer service within the dairy industry.

Key Responsibilities :

• Route Management : Supervise and manage the daily routes of dairy delivery trucks, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers. Covering routes as needed to ensure proper service commitments.
• Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of drivers, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards while delivering excellent service.
• Customer Relations : Address customer inquiries and complaints ensuring all issues are resolved quickly and effectively to maintain positive customer relationships.
• Scheduling and Planning : Coordinate and optimize delivery schedules to ensure efficient routes, reduced delivery times, and cost-effectiveness.
• Quality Control : Ensure the quality of dairy products is maintained during transport, adhering to safety, sanitation, and temperature control standards.
• Compliance : Ensure that all routes comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation, health, and safety.
• Inventory Oversight : Monitor product inventory on delivery trucks, ensuring proper execution of resets, stock levels and accurate deliveries to customers.
• Training & Development : Provide ongoing training to delivery drivers on safe driving practices, customer service, and operational procedures to include mentorship during route rides.
• Performance Monitoring : Evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and implementing corrective actions when necessary to improve productivity and service quality.
• Problem Solving : Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during deliveries, including vehicle breakdowns, customer complaints, and route adjustments due to weather or traffic conditions.
• Reporting : Maintain and submit reports on delivery performance, vehicle maintenance, customer feedback, and other relevant data to management.

Qualifications :

Preferred : Direct Store Delivery Experience
