What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant / Bookkeeper position at Sweitzer Waste Removal?
A residential and commercial waste removal company is looking for an experienced accountant that can maintain the financial books for multiple operating and ancillary property companies.
This is a hands-on accounting position that requires the person be knowledgeable of accounting rules and practices.
Our candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- 10 years’ experience of bookkeeping in small to medium size businesses with revenues > $5 Million
- Have a business accounting degree or commensurate experience that provides knowledge of business accounting rule and practices
- Skilled in Sage/Peachtree or similar accounting software
- Familiarity with Trux waste management operating software is a plus
Responsibilities include:
- Full bookkeeping responsibility for 3 operating companies including maintaining G/L, A/R, A/P, bank account and credit card reconciliations, payroll recording, sales tax, fixed asset reports and financial reporting
- Bookkeeping for several LLC companies for income producing properties
- Various reports required by towns and states relative to taxes and personal property
- Monitoring expenses and cash flow
- ·Monitoring loan covenants, assuring compliance and providing banks with required information
- Review and maintenance of insurance policies and records
- Various tasks relative to income producing properties including leases, tenant notices and insurance
- Prepare year end reports for CPA
Compensation includes a full and generous benefit package.
