What are the responsibilities and job description for the Applications Engineer CNC Machine Tools position at Swift Placement & Consulting?
Leading Machine Tool Distributor looking for an experienced Applications Engineer for Mill / Turn and 5-Axis machines . Controls would be for Fanuc, Siemens, and / or Heidenhain for DN Solutions (Doosan) and Heller machines.
Responsibilities :
- Perform application engineering work independently and set priorities with knowledge of company goals.
- Design and fabricate fixtures / work holding for demos, test cuts, and turnkeys.
- Participate in training activities with colleagues, internal academy, and external resources.
- Conduct time estimates for customer parts.
- Calculate optimal speeds and feeds for part processing.
- Setup CNC machines with program, tooling, workpiece, and fixtures.
- Setup and program a CMM (coordinate measuring machine).
- Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
- Generate engineering reports and technical documentation.
- Train customers on equipment after installation.
- Frequent communication with internal technical staff, external customers, and external suppliers.
