Description

Position Summary: The Chemical Weigher I is responsible for accurately measuring and weighing specific quantities of necessary chemicals before they are used in the production process. The Chemical Weigher II ensures that the correct amount of each material is ready for mixing before it is sent to Compounding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies the components that will be pre-weighed from the batch ticket.
  • Accurately weighs the necessary chemical in the correct unit of measure for batch processing. 
  • Records the weight of the raw materials.
  • Verifies, organizes and transfers chemicals.
  • Verifies the calibration of the scales on a daily basis.
  • Follows all cGMP guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Uses the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Assists with moving materials using material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jack or drum lift)
  • Maintains Weigh Room area clean at all times. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.                       

Qualifications


Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and write English proficiently
  • Effective communication skills with peers and upper management
  • Ability to maintain accurate records (clean and legible)
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Knowledge of weight conversions (grams, kilograms, etc.)
  • Proficient in using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals across all units of measure
  • Strong judgment skills
  • Basic computer proficiency

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience with RF Scanner

The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general labor, etc.}.
