We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance IT Support professional to provide remote and on-site technical assistance to clients across various industries. Duties
- Deliver technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Troubleshoot software problems related to Microsoft Office, Active Directory, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP protocols, and other network services.
- Manage computer systems and peripherals, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Assist with desktop support tasks such as configuring user accounts via GPO, SCCM deployment, and troubleshooting hardware components.
- Support network administration activities including LAN management, Cisco Meraki devices, and TCP/IP configurations.
- Utilize help desk tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy to track issues and document resolutions.
- Conduct analysis of system logs and performance metrics to identify potential issues before they impact users.
- Provide guidance on IT infrastructure setup and maintenance for clients’ servers (Windows Server environments), mobile devices, and other endpoints.
- Collaborate with clients to resolve complex technical problems efficiently while maintaining high customer service standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in technical support with expertise in software troubleshooting and computer management.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux.
- Familiarity with network administration concepts such as LAN/WAN management, DNS configuration, TCP/IP protocols, VPNs, firewalls (including Cisco Meraki), and TCP troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in using IT management tools like SCCM, GPO, Active Directory, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for issue tracking and system deployment.
- Ability to support computer hardware components and mobile devices effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and clear technical explanations.
- Analytical skills for diagnosing complex system issues quickly and accurately.
- Knowledge of BMC Remedy for incident management; experience with network security tools like firewalls; understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP; familiarity with network devices like Meraki equipment is a plus.
