What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Operations Supervisor position at Synergy Bank?
DEPARTMENT: LOAN REVIEW
REPORTS TO: LOAN OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
SCHEDULE: 40 HOURS PER WEEK, MONDAY - FRIDAY (8 AM - 5 PM)
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs assigned daily duties in the Loan Operations Department as well as special projects. As a supervisor, assists department employees with process and procedure questions. Works closely with Loan Operations Director to evaluate processes/procedures and job rotation in the department. Manages, coaches, and provides leadership to the Loan Operations department with an emphasis on innovation and efficiency.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handles assigned daily duties in the department which could include the following: E Oscar credit disputes, E Oscar monthly reports, end of the month reports, updating file changes, updating risk codes, letter of credit balancing, subpoenas, review CIP exceptions, coupon book verification, tuition payment verification.
- Ability to perform all duties in the department to step in as a backup when needed.
- Works closely with the director to cross-train other department employees.
- Be a team player willing to take on any special projects and assist other employees as needed.
- Adheres to the Bank’s Loan Policy.
- Provides supervision and direction for Loan Operations personnel.
- Ensures staff are adequately trained and have access as needed to in-bank and outside resources covering loan operations.
- Works closely with Loan Operations Director to solve loan operation related problems. Utilizing the expertise of all managers to make sure risk to the bank is taken into consideration when working out problems and making process changes. Also, to promote a team environment between departments.
- New ideas to promote more efficient and effective processes and procedures.
- Cross-sells products and services of the bank to best meet the needs of customers Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Bank policies, pertinent regulations, local economy, and customer base
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong supervisory skills
- Ability to motivate team and promote change.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to self-motivate, organize, and prioritize daily tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Experience in Loan Operations including but not limited to booking loans, monitor insurance and collateral, and/or compliance review.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
- 10 Years of Experience in similar job function
COMMUNICATION: Must be able to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in written format.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Works mostly sitting at a desk using a computer and telephone.
- Uses hands and fingers to work with paperwork and write.
- Be present for work at the bank Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM or more as needed to meet deadlines.
- Occasionally travel to the Baton Rouge area.
