Job Summary

Synergy Cooperative is seeking a highly motivated Team Member to join our Cumberland Cenex team. This role will be responsible for providing the highest degree of service to all customers, ensuring courtesy, honesty and accuracy at all times, while following required procedures. You will greet and serve guests, process register transactions, prepare food, maintain food safety and sanitation standards, and handle or process light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is major component of this position and will contribute to our strong and loyal presence in the communities we serve.

We are looking for someone who is interested in working nights and weekends!

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with their purchases in a friendly and courteous manner, including greeting all guests, providing information on products, ringing up purchases, and accepting payment

• Maintain Synergy's image inside and outside the building by completing all assigned housekeeping duties, including stocking, cleaning, and ensuring that the company's standards are met at all times

• Comply with all procedures for handling, controlling and accounting for company monies, merchandise, food, beverage, gasoline, and lottery during the assigned shift

• Responsible for maintaining various food service programs, where applicable, including product handling, operating procedures, quality control assurance, sanitation, and routine equipment maintenance

Qualifications

• Retail experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Requirements

• Ability to stand and remain in a stationary position for 2-4 hours at a time

• Ability to frequently move around for the full duration of your shift

• Ability to frequently move merchandise ranging from 10-50 pounds from a cart or the floor to the shelf

• Ability to work in temperatures consistent with commercial refrigeration/freezers

• Ability to bend, kneel, and squat frequently to position oneself to clean shelves, mop floors, and stock merchandise

• Ability to work commercial food preparation equipment (grills, ovens, fryers)

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail and food preparation experience

• Cash handling/cash register experience

• Ability to obtain and maintain a municipal seller/server certification (minimum 18 years of age)
