Position Purpose:

The primary responsibility of a Hostler is backing trucks to the dock at the appropriate doors while ensuring that the truck is functioning properly to perform the route.  This position also serves as support to inbound receiving and outbound shipping.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently use a Yard Truck to move containers and trailers to different doors as needed. Ensure truck temperatures are set appropriately and operating properly to perform the route.
• Warehouse utility job duties such as stocking slots, completing putaways and transfers, transporting freight with pallet jack or forklift, selecting orders, loading orders, checking orders.
• Daily and weekly yard check to keep accurate account of containers and the rotation of containers.
• Cleaning and assisting in cleanliness of warehouse.  Other operations duties as assigned

Education:

• HSD or equivalent preferred. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A preferred.

Experience:

• 1 year similar experience preferred. 6 months prior reach truck experience preferred.  Prior pallet jack and RF experience preferred.

Skills:

• Able to drop and hook trailers. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. often and up to 80 lbs. occasionally, able to work outside for majority of their shift. 
• Ability to read and speak English.  The work load can vary significantly.  Associates in this role must have the flexibility to work shifts that may include long hours and have varying shift start and end times.
