We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a high-performing, collaborative team that’s shaping the organization's generative AI and machine learning strategy. This is a hands-on role focused on natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and AI-driven automation—especially around translating structured data into natural language responses.
You’ll contribute from day one to an exciting early-phase project aimed at transforming manual business processes into AI-enabled, conversational workflows. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models, especially around natural language response generation from structured datasets.
- Lead the conversion of manual workflows and SQL scripts into AI-powered, automated natural language systems.
- Apply semantic parsing, code-to-text generation, summarization, and other NLP techniques to real-world business processes.
- Collaborate with data engineers and product teams to architect scalable AI solutions in a cloud-based (AWS) environment.
- Support early feasibility studies and rapidly prototype AI/ML concepts.
- Serve as a bridge between AI, engineering, and business stakeholders by clearly communicating complex technical ideas to technical and semi-technical audiences.
- Evaluate and integrate APIs, LLMs, and third-party AI services into existing infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- 6–8 years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, and AI-focused roles.
- At least 2–3 years working with AI/ML techniques, especially natural language processing and large language models (LLMs).
- Proven experience in:
- Natural language processing: semantic parsing, code-to-text, text generation/summarization
- Transforming unstructured data into structured formats suitable for ML
- SQL and relational data modeling
- Python for data science and ML tasks
- Designing AI solutions that bridge business requirements and technical implementation
- Solid understanding of data engineering concepts—while this is not a data engineering role, the ability to collaborate with engineers and understand data pipelines is crucial.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and API integration of AI models.
- Comfortable working in AWS-based environments.
Preferred/Bonus Skills
- Hands-on experience with:
- LLM fine-tuning
- Embeddings and vector databases
- Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Agentic AI architectures
- Exposure to healthcare insurance data (e.g., claims, benefits, enrollment).
- Experience integrating AI solutions across multiple platforms and systems.
