Job Title: Senior Software Developer 
Location: Remote (U.S. Based)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract
Pay Range: $63 – $80/hour

Position Overview:

System One is seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Software Developer to support the ongoing development and maintenance of Atom, a custom data management application built to support large-scale nuclear power construction projects. Atom functions as a central coordination tool across disciplines—linking plant safety functions, requirements, scientific analyses, documentation, and tests—streamlining project workflows and maintaining traceability from concept through completion.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering management, QA teams, and internal users to enhance Atom’s functionality, improve its performance, support quality initiatives, and ensure long-term maintainability. You’ll join a focused team of approximately five developers, using modern frameworks and tools across the stack.

Technology Stack:

• Backend: Python, Django, Django REST Framework

• Frontend: JavaScript, Vue3, Quasar (SPA)

• Environment: Linux servers, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD tools

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, document, and test features based on requirements and user feedback

• Refactor existing code and perform maintenance to support productivity and performance

• Self-identify and prioritize technical tasks and issues

• Support verification and validation of software functionality and compliance

• Analyze and eliminate bottlenecks affecting application performance or usability

• Execute backend administrative operations based on user or management needs

• Translate feature requests into clear and testable requirements

• Train internal users on application features and workflows

• Review peer code and provide constructive feedback

• Contribute to build, testing, and deployment infrastructure (e.g., Jenkins)

• Assist with server configuration and system health

• Participate in design reviews and maintain regulatory compliance with quality standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in web application development

• Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript

• Advanced expertise with Django and Django REST Framework

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (especially Vue3)

• Skilled with development tools such as Git, profilers, debuggers, and test frameworks

• Comfortable delivering on high-impact, evolving projects in a fast-paced environment

• Experience working in or willingness to learn nuclear regulatory environments

• Strong understanding of software best practices and SDLC principles

• Ability to provide and receive professional technical feedback

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field

• Experience administering Linux servers and databases

• Proficiency with Quasar framework and Vue3 ecosystem

• Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining CI systems (e.g., Jenkins)

• Familiarity with NQA-1 quality standards

• Background in industrial or nuclear infrastructure projects

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
