TOOLMAKER/MACHINIST
Skilled Toolmaker/Machinist to join a family-owned, AS9100/ISO 9001-certified manufacturer located in Whitehouse, NJ.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and run low-volume, high-precision, close-tolerance jobs.
- Work primarily in the medical/biomedical sector, with occasional aerospace projects.
- Assemble custom-built machines as required.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Build and wire custom electrical control panels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Set up and operate milling machines and lathes to fabricate precision tools and components.
- Interpret technical schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate manufacturing processes.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any operational issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience as a Toolmaker, Machinist, or in a precision machine shop environment.
- Strong manual machining skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in manufacturing and tooling.
- Proficiency in machining techniques and use of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
- Experience with GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and control processes.
- Ability to work with hand tools and fabrication techniques.
