Global Logistics Support Services, (GLSS), has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Mechanic II for one of our Aircraft Repair operations at Jacksonville, NAS, FL.

Military experience is a plus. This is not a teleworking position.

This mechanic will apply a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet-metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, and power trains. General mechanical maintenance, of moderate difficulty, is required to meet the assigned missions. Additionally, it provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD), and assists in the recommendation of changes to the Maintenance Work Order (MWO). Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and Is.

Responsibilities:

  • This mechanic maintains repairs, modifies aircraft structures, and structural components of moderate difficulty.
  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components, including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies the required expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate-to-complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals.
  • It requires a broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural components to perform modifications and repairs.
  • Requires a basic knowledge of electrical theory.
  • This job requires working knowledge of technical publications.
  • The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from a supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft-relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • May require specialization in sheet metal, electric work, avionics, or other aircraft systems-related disciplines.

Requirements:

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of unique aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
  • Must be able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules for assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  • A&P License or a Military Service School Certificate of Training in Aviation Maintenance desirable. 
  • Must have an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Three or more years’ of experience maintaining P-8A Aircraft is highly desirable.
