TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION EDUCATION:
- High School diploma; Technical certification(s) are an asset
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 2 years of working as a technician or equivalent; Experience in Mass Transit or Rail is of value
OTHER REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Technical training in both electrical & mechanical systems; Knowledge of the rail industry is an asset; Strong knowledge of PCs / laptops; Strong knowledge of MS excel
COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES
- Ability to troubleshoot using the laptop as a tool; Ability to perform software downloads; Strong mechanical aptitudes
Responsibilities
- Be sure to thoroughly understand and be able to apply the FTNA door adjustment procedure
- Be FVR’s representative in front of the rail car builder
- Assist the rail car builder (and occasionally the transit authority) with debugging and troubleshooting the FTNA systems (as per contractual agreements between FTNA and the customer) – on an as required basis
- Assist the rail car builder during the car commissioning and warranty phases of the project by providing support for the FTNA systems at the transit authority location and at the rail car assembly plant in other locations as required
- Troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical problems on the FTNA systems
- Confirm the problem identified by the rail car builder
