Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union is seeking an equity-minded, student-centered Art Teacher who is passionate about the role of visual arts education in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and cultural understanding. The arts are a deeply valued component of our schools and community. The ideal candidate values inclusive practices, champions art advocacy, and has the ability to develop in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression.
In this position, the Art Teacher will discover and develop a student’s unique talents in the field of art and foster a passion for learning and growing through comprehensive visual arts instruction as part of the Unified Arts Rotation. The Art Teacher must have strong knowledge and understanding of working, planning, and assessing in a proficiency-based system. The Art Teacher will be a strong, collaborative team member who is committed to continuing to work on their teaching practice through professional development both individually and as a team.
Applicants are expected to know current instructional research and evidence-based instructional practices. Strong candidates will demonstrate a student-centered approach, exemplary oral and written communication skills, strong relationship building skills with students, and a commitment to working collaboratively with all colleagues. Candidates should have extensive experience delivering rich learning experiences to students in a public school setting and be familiar with National Art Education Association professional standards and National Core Art Standards.

Annual Salary Range:
- $45,500 to $85,800, based on education level and years of experience.
