SUMMARY:  We are seeking an eager, motivated fire sprinkler service trainee. In this position you will be given the unique opportunity to gain the knowledge and experience required for promotion to a full service technician under the training and direction of experienced personnel. The ideal candidate will be open to learning new things, follows direction well and is handy with tools and / or construction. Trainee will get experience with annual inspections, backflow testing, and maintenance of both new and existing fire sprinkler systems needing repair.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive training and perform duties servicing Fire Sprinkler Systems to the prescribed standards.
  • Learn how to performing on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs of our customer's Fire Sprinkler Systems.
  • Identifying code and non-conformance issues as well as knowledge and understand of NFPA codes for inspection, testing and installation.
  • Preparing accurate and timely service tickets and reports.
  • Duties may also include installation of new Fire Sprinkler Systems, including but not limited to, measuring, drilling, gluing, pipe, valves, fittings, risers & sprinkler heads.
  • Interface with customers & homeowners to provide excellent and professional service while in the field.
  • Maintains all standard operating procedures and quality control measures of the company. 
  • Complies with all applicable safety policies and codes.
  • Maintains tools, equipment, shop, and work areas in the best possible condition for maximum production and safety.
  • Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current driver’s license and driving record that meets company standards.
  • Willingness to listen, learn and work towards gaining proper license & certifications.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics and blueprints. (preferred)

  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions

  • Frequently required to talk or hear
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, and read technical information.
  • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds 
  • Occasionally work in high, precarious places 
  • Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals 
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions 
  • Ownership of vehicle and ‘Tools of the Trade’ required.
