Physical Therapist Assistant
STARTING RATE: $30.00/hr. ($30.00 - $32.16/hr., depending on experience)
SHIFT: Full-Time, Days

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy, Dietary Supervisor, and Staff Physical Therapist, the Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant treats residents as directed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work under the direction and supervision of physical therapists to:
- Observe patients before, during, and after therapy, noting the patient's status and reporting it to a physical therapist
- Help patients complete specific exercises as part of the plan of care and treat patients using a variety of techniques, such as massage and stretching
- Use specialized devices and equipment to assist patients
- Serve as a liaison to residents, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for residents' needs
- Record patients' progress and report the results of each treatment to the physical therapist, working with them to discuss and evaluate resident information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current PTA license in NYS required
- Previous PTA experience preferred
- Experience in long-term care preferred
- Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
- Strong customer service skills and compassion
- Vaccination required
