The Business Development Manager will have the primary responsibility within the organization for developing business leads as well as driving the achievement of organizational sales goals within the Mid-Atlantic region. The Business Development Manager will provide lead development and project pursuit opportunities for the company while supporting on-going client activities by managing key accounts. This individual will report directly to the Director of Business Development and will work collaboratively with leaders of TAI to capitalize on local market opportunities.

This individual will report directly to the Director of Business Development and will work collaboratively with leaders of TAI to capitalize on local market opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the strategic sales growth within the Mid-Atlantic Region; forming strong business relationships with key decision makers, generating new business, developing client relationships within the Food/Beverage, Chemical/, Power/Utilities, and Consumer Goods Manufacturing markets.
- Filling project sales pipeline to achieve company financial goals.
- Assess existing market status and research new market opportunities.
- Developing new business opportunities and leads through research and consistent client/partner interactions.
- Track company-wide business opportunities and spearhead lead follow-up.
- Foster existing and establishing new business partnerships and client relationships.
- Coordinate and participate in conventions, conferences, and trade shows.
- Create and monitor documented sales processes for various projects and sales opportunities.
- Support proposal development by assisting with scope development, cost estimating and execution plan coordination.
- Follow up on submitted proposals and drive proposal award.
- Communicate client needs throughout all project lifecycle phases.
- Provide input on organization branding materials, media content, and supplemental proposal information (bios, project references, project profiles)
- Coordinate marketing needs with TAI’s marketing manager.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of technical sales preferably within the A/E/C or related manufacturing industries.
- Familiar with industrial and manufacturing markets within the Mid-Atlantic.
- Proven record of success in Business to Business sales.
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and meet/exceed set goals.
- Highly self-motivated and driven to business growth and revenue goals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering, design, and construction practices, or possesses the ability to learn high-level technical concepts.
- Possess knowledge of generally accepted business practices and commercial concepts.
- Ability to independently discuss relevant technical concepts with clients.
- Effectively works with individuals in various organization levels, of diverse backgrounds in site or office settings.
- Ability to develop and maintain rapport with clients and partners.
- Persistent, persuasive with excellent communication and listening skills.
- Willing to travel locally up to 50% of the time.
