What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - Wound Care position at TALENT Software Services?
Duties
- Provide specialized wound care and management for patients in a hospital setting, including pediatrics.
- Manage and care for colostomy and ileostomy, including ostomy equipment selection and stoma care.
- Identify and manage risk factors impacting skin integrity, including pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, and cellulitis.
- Conduct symptom management for various conditions including altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, and pain management.
- Perform ulcer risk assessments using tools like the Braden scale and manage wound/ulcer treatment and dressing.
- Educate patients and families on wound care and related health issues.
- Utilize EPIC, SBAR, 4P systems for medication, documentation, and communication.
- Participate in daily huddles and adhere to infection control and isolation precautions.
- Colostomy/Ileostomy care and management

- Symptom management for skin and mucous membrane alterations
- Ulcer risk assessment and management
- Wound treatments and dressing application
- Professional knowledge in G-tube/J-tube feeding and site care
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Certifications: BLS, WOCN (required); ACLS, WCC (preferred)
- Preferred experience in charge roles
