RN – A3 Oncology

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct and individualized patient care based on the nursing process and scientific principles. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes. RNs interact professionally with patients and their families while maintaining standards defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

This position is on the A3 Oncology unit, which requires a solid foundation in managing a wide range of medical conditions commonly associated with cancer care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, surveys, and hospital committees.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure professional behavior and appearance.
• Document accurately and use computer systems for patient data entry.
  
  

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma or Associate Degree).
  
  

Experience:

• No previous work experience required – New grads welcome.
  
  

Licenses/Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) – Active Texas license.
• CPR – BCLS
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (must be completed before the end of orientation)
  
  

Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in computer-based documentation.
• Capable of working in a high-risk, fast-paced clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of oncology-related care is a plus.
