Lead Estimator

Our client is an established and reputable commercial construction management firm in the New Haven area. The Lead Estimator will estimate new construction and existing remodel projects with an emphasis on hard bid, negotiated, conceptual and schematic estimating.

Responsibilities

• Organize, research, and strategically plan for estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling, and final submission.
• Determine subcontractors to include in the bidding process.
• Review plans and specifications for understanding overall projects to identify risk in difficult work, operation, sequencing, project restrictions and time constraints.
• Establish work scopes for subcontractors, defining major and priority subcontractors.
• Monitor coverage and solicit new subcontractors to bid projects.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field with a minimum of 10 years of commercial construction estimating.
• Proven history of effective leadership and staff management.
• A positive collaborator with company field supervision, project management, and administrative staff.
• Strong technology/software skills.
