Our client is a rapidly growing consulting firm with over 10 years of experience working with clientele ranging from Fortune 500 to early-stage pre-IPO companies. They offer an array of services that solve problems surrounding compensation, financial reporting, and human resource functions to ultimately advance their client’s long-term strategy.
The Position
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and VP of Finance to manage all finance and HR functions for the firm including the month-end close process, general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, annual audits, and payroll processing.
The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of GAAP, work collaboratively with others to achieve goals, and understands how to be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic business environment.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Month-end close analysis and actual vs. forecast variance analysis with commentary for management
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
- Prepare KPIs, balanced scorecards, and presentations for management and Board
- Manage and maintain key trackers to support KPIs and dashboards
- Produce supplemental reports and ad hoc analytics for client service teams
- Implementation of financial reporting tools and software
- Assist with annual and rolling budgets and forecasts, as well as annual audits and tax projects
- Maintain and improve controls around financial reporting
- Bi-monthly payroll processing
- Support Accounting Manager with employee onboarding and various HR functions
- Assist with special projects and collaborate with other departments
Qualifications and Candidate Background
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance or Accounting.
- 3 years of public or private industry accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
- Team player mentality with strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers.
- High detail orientation, with a strong eye for accuracy and professional presentation.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Ability to convey ideas and thoughts with clarity, confidence, and respectfulness.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite (including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables)
