The Mechanical Design Lead will be responsible for leading the mechanical design and development of innovative products and systems in alignment with Schneider Electric’s quality, safety, and sustainability standards. This role combines hands-on mechanical engineering expertise with technical leadership, guiding cross-functional teams through the full product development lifecycle—from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design activities for new product development and design enhancements.
- Own mechanical architecture, component selection, and system-level design decisions.
- Guide and mentor mechanical engineers, providing technical direction and design reviews.
- Develop and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and specifications using CAD tools.
- Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Drive design validation, testing, and failure analysis to ensure product robustness.
- Apply engineering standards, DFMEA, GD&T, and best design practices.
- Support design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and cost optimization.
- Manage technical risks, resolve complex mechanical issues, and support root cause investigations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and Schneider Electric internal processes.
- Support transition of designs from development to production and provide ongoing technical support.
