Summary of Role: The Tallgrass Tap House Service Lead oversees daily service-related execution. It monitors, coaches and improves the performance and success of the service team. This role includes oversight of and involvement in: team leading, service execution, guest experience, cleanliness and company policy adherence.
The primary goal of this role is to create memorable guest experiences that help advance the team reputation through effective coaching and accountability of service team members. Leadership, communication, and positivity are critical in this position.
What We Need From You:
· 2 years of previous high volume restaurant experience preferred
· 1 years of leadership within a team environment preferred. Ability to engage in meaningful conversations with subordinates and provide both 1-1 and team level communication and accountability.
· Previous experience scheduling a service team of 10 members preferred
· A passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for others
· Ability and willingness to move quickly, efficiently and safely through the restaurant
· Strong work ethic to execute demanding mental and physical work under pressure
· Positive attitude that remains consistent under pressure
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to communicate in and understand the predominant language of our guests
Key Responsibilities:
- In addition to below, duties will be dictated by business need or directed by GM & AGM
Team Leadership-
· Set a positive tone and lead the team in being successful each day
· Ensure the quality performance of all restaurant team members
· Primary focus is in-shift success of Front of House team
· Execute training and coaching methods set forth by GM and AGM, to include planning, rewarding, and discipline
· Responsible for service team knowledge and consistent guest delivery execution during each scheduled shift
· Take the lead on any problems occurring on your shifts and report them to proper department head while engaging in necessary follow up activities.
· Identify and develop talent within the team for individual and team improvement
· Be an active member of One Egg Group’s all-restaurant leadership team
· Be an active part of moving forward the Best Gig and Employee Engagement initiatives, positively impacting the One Egg Group company culture
Operations-
· Complete all managerial tasks that occur in-shift, including but not limited to: putting away food and beverage deliveries, reconciling cash drawers, checking out servers, submitting liquor orders, etc.
· Responsible for reconciling all guest complaints and service failures that occur in-shift
· Support execution of daily operations- ensure consistency, accuracy, quality, proper prioritization
· Responsible for performance and success of entire team working on your shifts
· Responsible for restaurant being opened and/or closed properly each day through training and verification
· Responsible for cleanliness of restaurant while on shift and communicating all repairs and maintenance issues to General Manager
· Ensure restaurant and bar cleanliness meets Health Department and Company standards
· Know, execute, and be able to train all aspects of FOH operations
· Assist in monthly physical inventory of all bar-related items
· Maintain all assigned administrative responsibilities as directed
· Has in-shift oversight of managing the flow of seating guests
· Maintain labor dollar goals set by General Manager by cutting staff appropriately
Communication-
· Establish/ reinforce positive communication between kitchen and service team
· Communicate professionally & efficiently with guests and colleagues
· Check with other leaders prior to leaving each day
- Be an active participant in your weekly 1-1’s with supervisor
Physical Demands:
· Ability to be on your feet, walking and standing up to 10 hours
· Ability to climb stairs multiple times during a shift
· Ability to reach & lift above the head as needed
· Ability to lift and move items up to 60 lbs. (primarily this will be kegs and C02 canisters)
· Ability to squat, bend, and twist your body as needed
· Ability to function in a work environment that is, at times, hot, loud, in tight spaces with colleagues, contains wet and slippery surfaces
Ability to effectively read, write, and verbally communicate
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
