What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Talnt?
Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the correct ledgers (day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger).
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage and perform partial checks of the posting process.
- Complete tax forms and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Enter data, maintain records and reports, and prepare financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable/payable and manage payroll in a timely manner.
- Manage cash flows, create financial projections, and handle lending and growth of liabilities.
- Collaborate with the executive team to create and analyze financial reports.
- Manage invoices, sales tax payments, and ensure profit and loss metrics are met.
- Oversee all payroll-related tasks.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial management (minimum 5 years).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Excellent data entry skills and a knack for numbers.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Advanced degree or certification in accounting (e.g., CPA).
- Experience working with a tax firm for timely tax filings.
- Familiarity with cost-cutting methods and financial strategy.
- Ability to provide financial projections and summaries on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Experience in handling payroll and associated tasks efficiently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an executive team to achieve financial goals.
Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
