Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and laboratory procedures. Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling on patients of all ages.
- Ensure proper identification of patients prior to blood collection.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols to maintain safety and accuracy.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing reassurance and information about the procedure.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area, including equipment sterilization.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient service and care.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, laboratory techniques, and best practices in phlebotomy.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care or laboratory settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Phlebotomy certification required
- CPR certification required
- Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomies using various techniques while ensuring patient comfort.
- Knowledge of blood sampling procedures and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
