What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Tandym Group and Careers?
A well-known company is seeking a Senior Accountant on a temporary to permanent basis to sit hybrid in their Memphis, TN location.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, and/or budget variance reviews
- Research and analyze assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting
- Ensure general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Lead accounting initiatives/ projects including: process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes and policy
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 4 years of Accounting for Financial Reporting experience in a Public Accounting and/or For-Profit setting
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards
- Working knowledge of Oracle
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
