What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Work Supervisor position at Tandym Group?
A community services organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff in Brooklyn as a Supervisor. Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Supervisor will be responsible for providing professional intervention services to clients currently homeless or at risk of homelessness.
About the Opportunity :
Start Date : ASAP
Assignment Length : Ongoing
Schedule : Monday to Friday
Hours : 9am to 5pm (1-hour lunch)
Responsibilities :
The Supervisor will :
Provide individual and team supervision
Onboard staff including new staff program orientation and training
Assure household financial assistance funds are utilized according to standards
Perform tasks related to crisis intervention; review, prepare and investigate participant incidents and complete related reports
Recruit staff by screening resumes, conduct screenings and interviews of candidates
Participate in program, agency and / or community activities as assigned
Ensure staff complete all documentation within mandated time frames
Provide, arrange and conduct staff training in all areas including policies and procedures; and contribute to staff professional development
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications :
3 years of experience in providing direct services to homeless individuals / families or at-risk populations
Bachelor's Degree
Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Solid assessment and documentation skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills :
1 year of Supervisory and / or Managerial experience for a Social Services program
Master's Degree in Social Work and / or a related field
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Experience in Housing and Public Benefits
