Position Summary: The Construction Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain construction equipment and facilities essential for the optimal operation of the company.
Construction Maintenance Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as well as scheduled maintenance repairs of construction equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to the department manager.
- Delivery and pick up of construction equipment.
- Maintains and repairs facility plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Construction Maintenance Technician Skills and Specifications:
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to safely operate and obtain certification to operate a fork truck.
- Computer data entry skills.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and diagrams.
- Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work.
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.
Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
Construction Maintenance Technician Education and Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Current DOT physical.
Current Motor Vehicle Record with clean driving history.
Construction Maintenance Technician Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of Construction Maintenance Technician, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Construction Maintenance Technician Work Environment:
While performing the duties of Construction Maintenance Technician, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
