What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respite Care Provider position at Tappe & Sanchez Support Services?
Duties:
- Provide overnight weekend Respite to children who have a mental health diagnosis in your own home. Hours would be Friday evening-Sunday afternoon.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized home environment for clients to feel comfortable spending the night.
- Provide emotional support, mentoring, and companionship to clients.
Skills:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to provide client care with compassion, empathy, and respect.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and families.
- Ability to submit documentation in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a way of communicating (reliable phone) and access to a computer for documentation.
- Pass a criminal and DHS abuse background check
- Maintain your own reliable transportation, a valid drivers license, and vehicle insurance.
*** We are particularly in need of adult male providers to work with male children.
As it is an independent contractor position, no benefits are offered. You would be required to work a minimum of 2 weekends/month.
