POSITION SUMMARY:
The Automation Specialist is a member of the team that is responsible for providing support through the daily operations of the Targa Pipeline Field Automation HMI\PLC hardware\software systems and related process control systems that ensure reliable Plant and Field operations. The position is actively involved in supporting the 24x7 SCADA and EFM data collection for Targa’s Permian system The position will work closely with measurement, field OPS/Plant OPS and IT groups to ensure reliable data collection/support field. The focus of the position will be on support of Targa’s Permian G&P Assets.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide daily operational support for Field Automation HMI\PLC systems.
- Working knowledge CygNet 8.5 -> above and FMS
- Work closely with Engineering, and Operations to ensure the Field Automation HMI\PLC System is being developed to established standards
- Work closely with O&M groups to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of fully functional and maintainable systems, as well as provide expertise for ongoing operational support
- Assist in the development and maintenance of design standards, templates and tools for the Field Automation HMI\PLC Systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external customer(s) to determine operational needs and requirements of Field Automation HMI\PLC systems.
- Support and implement Field Automation HMI\PLC system projects, including engineering oversight, task management, and implementing lessons learned found during project execution.
- Install, maintain and troubleshooting for HMI/DCS/PLC, SCADA including HMI, RTUs - TotalFlow, Emerson Roc, Bristol ControlWave and associated protocols. PLCs – Allen Bradley all models, General Electric all models and associated protocols (SLC, CIP, SRTP, Modbus, etc.).
- Install, maintain and troubleshooting Licensed and Unlicensed radio frequency 200MHz to 11GHz radio systems. Including antenna structures and associated supporting equipment.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Design/analysis experience in automation design.
- Design/analysis experience with software HMI\PLC\DCS systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- HMI and PLC\DCS Systems Design Engineering with 5 years’ experience
- In depth knowledge and project design experience with HMI Systems and PLC\DCS with end to end responsibility.
- In depth knowledge with Allen Bradly PLCs, Controllogix, Compactlogix, and slc500 and micrologix1400.
- Familiarity with other PLCs, GE, Modicon, Bristol, Scadapack a plus
- In depth knowledge with Allen Bradly PLCs, Controllogix, Compactlogix, and slc500 and micrologix1400.
- In depth knowledge of industry standard HMI software and platforms – Cygnet/FMS, Clear Scada/Geo SCADA, Wonderware System Platform and Rockwell FactoryTalk.
- Familiarity with DSC system, DeltaV, Honeywell, and GE Matrix a plus
- Familiarity with Kepware and AUTOSOL
- Familiarity with programming languages, UI design, databases
- Highly organized individuals capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong technical writing skills for the development of design standards and specifications
- Ability to collaborate as a team and act as a team leader in a group of cross functional engineers
- User knowledge with AutoCAD, Visio, Ms Office and Ms Project, Excel
- Knowledge of electrical design, materials and methods installation.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and Modbus protocols and network topologies. Knowledge of IP routing protocols would be a plus.
- Working knowledge of natural gas and liquids measurement.
- Working knowledge of all wireless communications
