Are you an experienced property tax professional with a knack for data and a passion for precision? Our Shelton area client is seeking a Tax Accountant to be the driving force behind their personal property tax function.
In this pivotal role, you'll be the resident expert on their property tax systems and the critical link between their internal teams and external tax partners. The Property Tax Specialist will ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of the entire property tax compliance cycle, from data management to final payment.
The ideal candidate will need excellent knowledge of property taxes and the filing process, including the ability to protest assessments with the assessor.

Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the property tax management software, ensuring its configuration and data are always on point.
- Dive into large datasets, reconciling information from internal systems to prepare accurate tax filings.
- Be the primary point of contact for the outsourced property tax firm, providing them with clean data, reviewing renditions, and coordinating the appeal of any inappropriate assessments.
- Work closely with Finance, Accounting, and other departments, providing crucial data for budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and improve our partnership with external vendors.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years of experience in multi-jurisdictional personal property tax compliance
- Experienced with property tax software and highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with ease.
- Experience with a third-party tax provider preferred
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
