Taxing Authority Consulting Services, P.C. is a Virginia law firm with a focus in its practice to serve only government entities in managing accounts receivable, tax assessments, and the general revenue cycle. Our firm’s extensive experience in collection, bankruptcy, and assessment matters offers our clients full-service representation related to their receivables.
We are currently seeking an Account Specialist to join our team at TACS. This role plays a key part in supporting our Payment Processing Department by handling administrative and financial tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in researching accounts and previous postings to ensure data accuracy
- Post payments from multiple sources, supporting a group of clients based on county-specific rules
- Handle receipt requests and other payment-related correspondence
- Reconcile payments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong data entry skills and comfort working with numbers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills a plus
- Experience in an accounting or banking environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess data entry and account reconciliation skills. * * Basic math skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and issues with financial records.
