KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Instruct/coach martial arts lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
Build effective, authentic relationships with participants and parents; help them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourage parent involvement and identify potential volunteers.
Convey information on martial arts programs and schedules, and refer participants and parents to other programs as appropriate.
Maintain records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS:Experience:

1-2 years' related experience preferred.
Prior knowledge/experience in martial arts disciplines (e.g., Karate, Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, etc.) is preferred.

Skills:

CPR, First Aid, and AED certification and/or experience a plus.
Ability to maintain a positive presence in the facility and relate to a diverse population of individuals from various backgrounds.

Hours:

Weeknight late afternoons, 2-3 hours per week depending on class registration. Possible increased hours if the program grows.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
