POSITION SUMMARY
Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of TCA Health Facilities, and grounds. Keeping facilities operational through preventative maintenance and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. Oversee staff that installs, inspects, repairs, maintains grounds and associated equipment and vehicles. Maintains a safe and clean environment for all TCA locations. Ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, waste management, cleaning and repair vendors are in good standing. Oversee environmental technicians, coordinate office moves, janitorial duties, all while maintaining compliance with local state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES (Included but not limited to the following);
  • Perform a wide range of repair tasks at all TCA facilities
  • Perform routine maintenance around and inside all TCA buildings such as fixing structural damage, for example window door and wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Repair minor electrical fixtures and maintain all safety lighting of the facilities
  • Maintain the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
  • Applying preventative measures to facilities to reduce the risk of future problems, e.g. applying sealant on roof, changing filters etc.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Painting when facilities become faded or chipped
  • Coordinate system repairs and monitors system performance
  • Maintain adequate parts, inventory, and order items as necessity
  • Ensure timely upkeep of preventative maintenance and repairs of vehicles, buildings, grounds, equipment & systems
  • Ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency of all mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ensure all facilities are kept clean and hygienic
  • Conduct regular walk-through inspections to assess safety and cleanliness and take corrective action
  • In consultation with direct supervisor coordinate with contractual landscaping, snow removal, waste management, professional cleaning company, exterminators to maintain compliance with agreement checklists and quality of services
  • Complete common tasks such as painting, plumbing, HVAC repairs, light carpentry, drywall, electrical repairs, furniture installation, office set up and relocation support etc.
  • Support facilities manager in obtaining and assessing construction and or maintenance project proposal, including maintenance budget estimates and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee, supervise and train the environmental technicians and related maintenance staff
  • Complete equipment audits, inventory and record keeping policies
  • Coordinate with the facilities manager on the implementation of new construction or related capital development or new access point set up
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols
  • Implement workplace safety and risk policies and actively participate in TCA health risk and quality activities as an alternate to the facilities manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises environmental, drivers, and related staff and interns.

  • Knowledge of health care administration and operations.
  • Must have strong interpersonal computer and logistic skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, facilities management or related discipline, Health care facilities management experience required. Vocational certifications in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical services with at least 2 years of work experience in lieu of bachelor’s or associate degree. Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
Strong understanding of inventory and supply management
Demonstrated leadership skills and 1-year experience in supervisor position familiarity drafting and understanding blueprints and schematic
Effective people management skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Capacity to lift and move at least 50 pounds
Project and time management capacity
Minimum three years facility or custodial experience, preferably in a health care setting.
