Job Title: Computer Information Systems Instructor (Networking)
Location: Clarkesville Campus, North Georgia Technical College (with potential assignments at multiple locations)
Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Position
Job Summary: North Georgia Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Computer Information Systems Instructor. The successful candidate will primarily be based at the Clarkesville Campus but must be flexible to teach day, evening, and online courses across multiple campuses. The instructor will also be responsible for teaching secondary students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive coursework in networking and related subjects.
- Design and implement practical lab exercises to provide hands-on experience.
- Conduct lectures and interactive sessions to explain networking theories and concepts.
- Assess student understanding through regular tests, assignments, and practical exams.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field, including emerging technologies and practices.
- Provide academic advice and support to students.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement of course content and teaching methods.
- Travel to multiple locations, sites, and campuses as required.
- Teach secondary students in addition to post-secondary students.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field.
- Two years of paid work experience in the field within the past seven years.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in a computer-related field.
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
- Experience in many of the following areas:
- PC installation and maintenance
- UNIX/Linux OS administration
- Network installation, configuration, and administration using CISCO products
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
- CISCO Networking Academy CCNA approved instructor or working toward approval.
- Nationally recognized certifications in IT fields, including any of the following: CompTIA A , Network , MOS, MCT, CCAI, COI, CCENT, CCNA.
