Senior Commercial Construction Superintendent
We are looking for a full-time, deadline-driven senior commercial superintendent to manage our projects and join our team. Expectations of the construction superintendent are to oversee our construction project and to act as the link between various project parties. The construction superintendent will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on site. Additionally, they must manage all of the trades and subcontractors hired for the job. The construction superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on-site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. He or she will ensure quality standard are met, and all equipment and materials are available on-site at all times. You will liaise with inspection authorities regarding approvals. Keeping the job on time and budget along with following the plans and specifications is necessary. The superintendent must be able to read plans, write a schedule, post 2-week outlooks, coordinate by email with the office staff, write RFI's and hold daily safety meetings on site. This person works with the assigned Project manager. As a senior superintendent this person should have knowledge of all trades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to read and understand plans and specs.
- Needs to have general knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems
- Run a job start to finish using the assigned subcontractors and tradesmen.
- Follow a construction schedule to ensure the project stays on time and budget.
- Attend pre-Bid meetings, construction meetings and/or pre-site visits
- They will need to do the general inspection of the workers and their performance daily.
- Report to the job each day and stay on the job until the end of each day.
- Maintain material delivery status, order and receive materials.
Requirements:
- 4-10 years of experience with a commercial general contractor. Must have run commercial jobs and have understanding of blue prints.
- Hands on and management experience
- Computer skills
- Experience with estimating and plan reading
- Experience with tenant fits outs/renovations and restaurants
- Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record
