What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service technician ii position at Techcrane International LLC?
Job Purpose : Perform Advanced level maintenance, repair, assembly and installation of cranes when required.
Essential Functions
- Keep crane systems operating by performing inspections, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance and repairing equipment as required.
- Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports and inspection checklist. (Job is considered incomplete until all paperwork is done.)
- Responsible for client’s signature on all paperwork (SME & CIF). Paperwork is to be typed and detailed in completed sentences.
- Responsible for all expense sheets. Expense sheets must be filled out completely, each receipt should be numbered as it is listed on the expense sheet with job number, Techcrane card / or cash written, the date circled and total circled.
- Responsible for all pictures / videos uploaded to the google drive in the correct job folder.
- Provide customer service by acting as liaison between customer and office.
- Build and maintain customer confidence by maintaining good response time, informing customer of problems and completing job in timely manner.
- Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.
- Ensure compliance with Techcrane Quality Management System.
- Perform assembly, installation and testing of hydraulic cranes and components.
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Train Service / Crane Technician Apprentices in crane assembly, installs and service.
- Operate forklift, hand truck, man lift and other production equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized shop.
- Control non-conforming products.
- Confer with Engineering and Production Manager regarding problems with operation or maintenance of equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent or technical school.
- At least three-year experience as crane technician; demonstrated mechanical skills.
- Able to read blueprints, schematics and understand technical data.
- Able to use hand tools and trade tools.
- Able to identify and resolve operational malfunctions.
- Able to operate forklift and other production equipment.
- Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must have a TWIC card.
- Crane operators license preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Regularly required to walk, stand, kneel, bend, squat, stretch, twist or reach with body, arms and / or legs.
- Use hands to handle or operate tools and equipment; grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
- Keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position.
- Able to see at close range.
- Ability to visualize.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
- Must be able to climb and balance; work at heights.
- Regularly lift / carry 50 pounds or more.
- Drive; operate crane, forklift and other equipment.
- Travel aboard boats and helicopters; board offshore platforms.
Work Environment
- Will spend significant amounts of time working in field, including offshore; will also spend time in assembly shop and warehouse.
- Noise level will range from moderate to very loud.
- May involve hazardous materials, fumes, moving parts / equipment, electrical shock risk, extreme heat (welding) and extreme cold (liquid nitrogen).
- Severe hot weather is likely; severe cold weather is possible.
