What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weld Shop Foreman position at Techcrane International LLC?
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the supervision of performance of all work in welding shop and ensure work is accomplished per approved drawings and customer requirements.
- Ensure all time reporting is accurate and complete to reflect actual project charges.
- Train subordinate personnel and establish work performance standards.
- Requisition appropriate welding equipment to ensure no disruptions with schedule.
- Ensure all material is properly marked with heat codes and handled in safe manner.
- Monitor and evaluate welding process and procedures to ensure maximum output; plan and monitor workflow.
- Confer with Production Manager and Quality Assurance Director regarding any issues.
- Ensure all work orders and drawing packets are completed properly and turned into Quality Assurance Director at completion of project.
- Ensure compliance with Techcrane Quality Management System.
- Enforce use of personal protective equipment at all times.
- Oversee shop cleanliness and organization, this includes breakrooms.
- Supervise subordinates in accordance with company policies, procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 7 years’ experience in heavy structural fabrication.
- Supervisory experience is required.
- Experienced with welding practices and symbology per AWS D1.1.
- Must be able to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Must be proficient in fabrication and welding of structural steel components.
- Must be proficient in gouging steel components and making 100% UT welds.
- Leadership, organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
