What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analytical Technician position at Technical Solutions Inc.?
Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking an Analytical Technician 2 on behalf of our client. An individual in this role will use machining tools to prepare metal samples for various chemical analyses and will utilize analytical instrumentation to determine the chemical composition of the metal samples. Analytical instrumentation includes, ICP, ARC Spark, ICP-MS, GFAA, Combustion & IGF gas analyzers, and XRF. You will be working with Titanium, Aluminum, Nickel, and Iron alloys from companies across the globe.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Using acids such as HCl, HNO3, and HF to digest material
- Use of instrumentation to determine chemical composition of customer's material
- Using bolt cutters, band saws, mills, and grinders for sample prep purposes
- Prioritizing jobs to ensure they are completed in the correct order
- Using pipettes to transfer digestions and calibration standards into the appropriate containers
- Maintaining / cleaning the instrumentation being used to ensure proper functionality
- Maintaining quality integrity and documentation for safety-critical customer requirements
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
- Reporting when consumables are needed for respective equipment
