SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The EHS Specialist will lead the standardization and management of EHS documentation and training across North American locations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a centralized system for EHS document control, creating and deploying standardized training programs, and implementing a robust train-the-trainer initiative. The role works collaboratively across sites to ensure consistent compliance, training effectiveness, and a safe working environment aligned with corporate EHS goals.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement a standardized system for EHS document creation, review, approval, distribution, storage, retention, and disposal across the region.
- Maintain a centralized repository for all regional EHS documents, ensuring easy access and version control.
- Develop templates and guidelines for key EHS documents (e.g., procedures, work instructions, risk assessments).
- Conduct periodic audits of all North American locations practices to ensure compliance with regional standards.
- Stay abreast of relevant regulatory changes and update regional EHS documents accordingly.
- Develop standardized training materials (e.g., presentations, handouts, online modules) for core EHS requirements applicable across North America.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of training content.
- Maintain a regional training matrix to track required training for different roles and responsibilities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and deliver train-the-trainer programs to equip designated personnel at each location with the skills and knowledge to effectively deliver specific EHS training.
- Create resources and tools to support local trainers in their delivery efforts.
- Establish a system for monitoring the effectiveness of train-the-trainer graduates and the training they conduct.
- Maintain prescription safety glasses and a shoe protection program across all North American locations.

- Experience in developing and delivering training content and programs.
