What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Device Imaging & Integration position at TECHNOLOGY SERVICES?

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Director of Device Imaging and Integration is responsible for overseeing and supporting K-12 campus technology operations, ensuring that district-wide technology resources are accessible, functional, and effectively managed. This role collaborates closely with the Instructional Technology team which includes providing guidance and support to campus technicians, managing the imaging and deployment of laptops, tablets, and Chromebooks, and overseeing Customer Care support operations to ensure prompt and efficient resolution of technical issues. Additionally, the Director of Device Imaging and Integration manages the district’s hardware inventory, including the oversight of all technology assets, and leads the implementation and maintenance of the student 1:1 device program to ensure students have reliable access to necessary devices for learning. Direct and manage the technology support services for the District. Responsible for all aspects of strategy development and management of the Campus Support Technicians, Customer Care Center, Asset Management, and 1to1 teams. Work collaboratively with all CFISD stakeholders and departments to ensure that Technology Customer Support Services aligns with overall CFISD strategic objectives. Ensure efficient and effective access to technology by all campuses and administrative departments.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Degree(s):

Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent applicable experience

  • Professional experience: Three (3) years’ experience in supervision and management of an information systems department for a large organization
  • Experience in the education industry preferred

Certifications:

  •  Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL), preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of computer, hardware, and software applications
  • Knowledge of computer applications development and implementation
  • Understanding of ticketing, and inventory systems and processes
  • Capable of managing a large and dispersed team focusing on customer excellence
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to implement policy and procedures
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data
  • Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Possess a strong understanding of appropriate leading-edge technologies.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Develops and implements plans to address District-wide technology needs, including evaluation of hardware and software required to support the operational and instructional requirements of the District.
  2. Develops and implements District standards and specifications for hardware and software use.
  3. Manages, directs, and assigns priorities and personnel to major projects to ensure the attainment of District and department goals and objectives.
  4. Oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and software throughout the District.
  5. Knowledge of call tracking software and data collection techniques used in supporting technology
  6. Reviews yearly, monthly, and weekly documentation of Key Performance Indicators. Compiles, produces, and analyzes key performance reports and score cards to share the departmental.
  7. Publishes and distribute daily and weekly reports encouraging the organization to remain focused on customer service and issue resolution.
  8. Ensures customer needs are met and handles issue escalations.
  9. Sets the objectives and vision for the campus support technicians. Establishes guidelines, expectations, and evaluation criteria for the team.
  10. Directs all campus technology services activities for 1to1, Campus Support and Asset Mgmt.
  11. Manages all asset mgmt. initiatives, recycling, audits, asset processes, and team development.
  12. Develops and maintains an accurate inventory management system and recommend the disposal and replacement of obsolete equipment when necessary.
  13. Implements the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of information management and technology.
  14. Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required.
  15. Administers the Technology Support Services budget and ensure that programs are cost-effective, and funds are managed wisely.
  16. Oversees the purchase of computer hardware, software, supplies, and related services, initiate purchase orders and bids in accordance with District policies.
  17. Approves and forwards department invoices and purchase orders to accounting department.
  18. Selects, trains, and supervises personnel and makes recommendations relative to personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal.
  19. Attends professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in technology services.
  20. Provides excellent customer service.
  21. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervise and evaluate the performance of technology assets, acquisitions, and sustainability teams and staff

  • Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying (less than 50 pounds)
  • Travel: Frequent district-wide travel and occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
